🐻 Grizzly Bear Looking for Fish in the Rain – Haines, Alaska 🐟

Sometimes, the rain adds the perfect touch to a scene. During our visit to Haines, Alaska, we were on a tour with Karla of Rainbow Glacier Adventure tours and were fortunate to spot this grizzly bear on the hunt for salmon across the river. Despite the drizzle, the moody weather only enhanced the atmosphere, making the moment even more special. Later, we were lucky enough to witness a mother bear and her cubs, an unforgettable encounter in this wild landscape.

Captured with my Canon R6 Mk II and 70-200mm lens, I pushed the ISO to 2500 to handle the low light and snapped at 1/320s to freeze the action.

East and West Mittens and Merrick Butte Sunstar 🌄

Witnessing the magic of sunrise at Monument Valley, the golden light hitting the East and West Mittens with Merrick Butte in the distance was absolutely breathtaking. The moment the sun peeked over the horizon, it created a beautiful sunstar effect, adding an extra touch of drama to the scene.

Monument Valley, located on the Arizona-Utah border, is one of the most iconic landscapes in the American Southwest. These massive sandstone buttes have been sculpted over millions of years by natural erosion. The East and West Mittens, so named because they resemble two giant hands, along with Merrick Butte, are the last remnants of ancient mountains and plateaus, slowly worn down by wind and water. Standing here, you feel the deep connection between the earth and sky, with these towering formations bearing witness to countless sunrises over the millennia.

🌊 Lake Louise in a Hurry 🏔️
A quick stop at Lake Louise didn’t leave much time to plan, but sometimes that’s all you need. I quickly grabbed my NiSi Circular Polarised ND filter to bring out the details in the rocks beneath the water, leading the eye toward the stunning snow-covered mountain in the background. The scene was pristine, and the filter worked wonders to reveal the textures beneath the lake's surface, all while balancing the reflections and soft light.
