Camel Rock

Being more of a night owl generally, getting up in the morning to capture sunrise has historically been a difficult task. However, recently I've been trying to get better at it. For those early risers, you already know the amazing feeling of watching the magic of sunrise and the promise of a new day.

This shot was taken at Camel Rock a few weeks back. Here in Canberra the balloon festival is coming up so I can see many more early mornings.

Shake, rattle and roll! While spending some time

Shake, rattle and roll!

While spending some time down on the magnificent NSW South Coast I went searching for birdlife in between Camel Rock and Murunna Point on the headland walk. I managed to find this little New Holland Honeyeater drying himself off much like a dog.

The bird is around 18 cm (7.1 in) long and is mainly black, with a white iris, white facial tufts and yellow margins on its wing and tail feathers. It is a very active bird and rarely sits long enough to give an extended view. Luckily I was able to capture it drying off between the branches.

Stormy Horizon!

While my other planned shoots didn't pan out with clouded skies, my self made challenge of doing a (work) week of sunrise shoots came to an end this morning with a light drizzle and very moody shots as a result. I can never get over how abundant in its beauty this part of the NSW South Coast is. I didn't even scratch the surface of a 10th of the places I've found here, but unfortunately all good things come to an end.

Well at least until I'm down here again anyway.😁 Hopefully it won't be too long. 🤞
