Paul Kerr

Paul has several years of experience as a live music and event photographer. Paul runs Milky Way photography workshops around the South Coast of NSW and Canberra. Paul is an award winning photographer. He also works closely with Ari Rex (International Award winning photographer) on a number of projects.

Paul came to photography at an early age, owning many cameras during his youth. Though the journey into photography was helped by his work for music magazines in writing reviews, interviews and concert reviews. His editor knowing his joy in photography, gave him an assignment that included shooting a live show. From there he was hooked and photography became so much more, he got to combine his love of live music and photography together. His work established his credibility and he has shot such bands as Parkway Drive, Cradle of Filth, Rose Tattoo, Hunters & Collectors, The Living End. He has worked for Rob Thomas as his social media photographer while in Canberra. Paul has been published in a few books, one of which was used to support the Music Industry, reeling from the impact of COVID, across a loss of touring and uncertainty everywhere. “2019 – A Year Before Lockdown.” This is something Paul is very proud of.

Paul’s low light photography skills and love of the stars, led him to learning the art of Astrophotography. Paul has been taught the art of Astrophotography by International Award winner, Ari Rex and enhances his skills by working as one of Ari’s Star Crew in teaching Milky Way Workshops out of Canberra. Paul also is running workshops on the NSW South Coast. He finds there is nothing better than finding what can be an ordinary subject and making it take on a whole new light when combined with the beauty of the Milky Way.
